The Viroid Flophouse is an exploration of playable art in an online gaming environment, which incorporates dance, motion tracking, streaming technologies and telematic performance, within the common theme of "virus."
It is a hybrid game/performance environment created by ADaPT (Association for Dance and Performance Telematics) which includes among others Arizona State University (Tempe, AZ, USA), Nottingham Trent University (Nottingham, UK) and Waag Society for Old and New Media (Amsterdam, NL).
Each site functions as a room in the "flophouse," in which on-site participants can interact with remote participants. |
